Artbook | REVIEW | The Art of Diablo
Back with a new review after quite some time. Been traveling again, been to events, working on books, and on my mental health. Make sure to take a break now and then to keep the fire burning steadily! I am going through new books and one by one reviewing the stack that has been getting higher and higher in the past weeks. This time we are looking at The Art of Diablo. Solid book!
Artbook | UNBOXING | Horizon Forbidden West + Mini Artbook
I got my hands on the new Horizon Forbidden West Special Edition which includes a Mini Artbook. I am not really talking about the game here but I am all for the small artbook with some badass art in it. Some New artbook reviews are coming next week, and I am also talking about which ones these will be.
Prints | REVIEW | Totentanz by CUT
A really interesting project called "Totentanz" from a group of artists under the mantle of CUT, a project by Dana Makaridina. It is a collection of linocuts and woodcuts around the topic of death.
Artbook | REVIEW | Astromythos by Jon Sideriadis
Let's look at Astromythos! This 200-page hardcover book was published by ArtOrder and is the work of over 20 years by Jon Sideriadis. A beautiful book that is actually a giant poem about the origin of the stars. A review will be up on my channel today and I hope you will find it useful :)
Artbook 18+ | UNBOXING | The Art of Nurzhan Bekkaliev
Did a fun little flip-through of The Art of Nurzhan Bekkaliev which I only waited to open for you guys :D I hope you enjoy it. But watch out, some nudity in there.
Artbooks 18+ | REVIEW | Sugar Girls by Daniela Uhlig
A great (even though small) book, full of Daniela Uhlig's work. The content is for adults and if you can get your hand on it, it really is worth every penny. The print is great and so is the production value. Published by Xupuy (Alberto Ruiz) in 2013, this book will not be the last we have seen of Daniela :)
Artbooks | REVIEW | The Art of Brom
A small review of a really lovely book, with one of my favorite artists. Gerald Brom is known from the entire spectrum of the entertainment industry, has made concept artwork, book covers wrote novels, and has contributed to games and movies. This book by Flesk is still available and I highly recommend grabbing a copy!
Artbooks | REVIEW | The LOTR Sketchbook
An absolute must-have: The Lord of the Rings Sketchbook by Alan Lee! It is packed with insight both in image and text, and if you love the movies this is the perfect addition to the experience. Make sure to get your copy!
Artbooks +18 censored | UNBOXING | The Birth of Rockin' Jelly-Bean
I recently received a package with a pretty cool book, well-produced but with content that is not meant for people who have a problem with nudity in a Pin-Up style. If you haven't heard of Rockin' Jelly-Bean I urge you to take a look at his popular but controversial artwork.
Artbook | MY BOOKS | Andrew Mar: Aphos
Flipping through one of the books I had the pleasure to design, APHOS by Andrew Mar. There is so much art in this and if you are a fan of anything dark, this is a book for you. I hope you enjoy the video!
Artbooks | RARITIES | Barry Windsor Smith: Opus 1 & 2
A new rarity review with Erik. This time we are looking into Opus 1 & 2 by Barry Windsor Smith. Astonishing artbooks, with plenty of text and excellent printing. If you have copies of this book, you can call yourself lucky! In my opinion, a must-have!
Artbook | REVIEW | Great Talks About Photorealism
This is a book about 3D artwork which is already a pretty rare topic, but the title tells us just how much of a specific topic this is. Bogdan Sasu created this artbook about Architectural Visualization, showing us his perspective on that sector.
Artbooks | REVIEW | The Big Kopinski
Karl Kopinski is one of these artists that even if you don't know about him, you definitely have seen his work somewhere. His body of work is extensive and there is more to check out every day. He is a real machine, and his artbook The Big Kopinski is packed with his sketches. A4, ca 300 pages and about 50 of these are with colored artworks. We can only hope that there will be more soon, but until then you can get this book at the store of Karl's publisher Éditions Caurette. Enjoy!
Artbook | UNBOXING | The Art and Soul of Dune, Limited Edition
I did the thing, and I got myself a copy of The Art and Soul of Dune, but I could not go past the Limited Edition. No regrets. Check out my unboxing video and see for yourself why. Artbooks | RARITIES | The Studio
A new exclusive 'Rarity' review on my Patreon: The Studio. I am learning about this group of artists consisting of Barry Windsor-Smith, Jeff Jones, Michael Kaluta, and Bernie Wrightson while flipping through Erik Staub's copy of the "Fab Four's" artbook.
Magazine | UNBOXING | ImagineFX 195
A little flip continuing the look through my stack of unopened IFX mags.
Artbook | REVIEW | Unseen Westeros
I am talking a bit about the project Unseen Westeros which shows the pre-story to Game of Thrones in a book that has been created to finance a big exhibition in Berlin. More about the interesting project in my video.
Artbook | Faves | Reiko Groß: Dishonored 2 and d'artiste
I had the pleasure to chat with my good friend Reiko about his two favorite artbooks which are "d'artiste" by Ballistic Publishing and "The Art of Dishonored 2" by DarkHorse Publishing
Artbooks | RARITIES | Drawings Inspired by Life by Dorian Vallejo
My friend Erik Staub and I are taking a look through his huge collection of artbooks and especially his rarities. Today we discuss the publication by Dorian Vallejo's of which Erik owns multiple copies with original artworks in the book.
Artbook | MY BOOKS | Decade by Even Amundsen
I am diving a bit into one of the books I designed. Decade by Even Amundsen is one of my favorite gigs so far. A lot of work went into it, but the simple approach doesn't show it. Instead, it shines with some great materials and especially its size.
