DECADE by Even Mehl Amundsen

After the very successful trilogy of the TEGN universe, we can now present you the first published sketchbook of Even Mehl Amundsen. A selection of his works from 1500 scanned pages of his personal sketchbooks, that he made between 2009 and 2019. The book is reprinted and available since early 2023!

Even Mehl Amundsen is a freelance concept artist from Norway who has worked for studios like Karakter, Ubisoft, Blizzard, Riot, Axis Animation, Blur, Guerilla Games, Wizards of the Coasts, Volta Studios, Ubisoft and many more. Besides that, he has been working on his own world shown in TEGN. He travels a lot, teaching what he has learned in workshops and giving advice to newcomers. He is also teaching his process and approach through YouTube videos and his Patreon account.

Spiridon is just the right mix of passionate and professional. You know that once he puts his mind and time behind a project he has sussed out it’s qualities and knows how best to feature them, and that he has the discipline and skills to see it through.

That was a lot of work! Scanning 1500 pages from 10 years of sketchbook history, and selecting. It has 300 pages of 150g matte paper and is bound in a hardcover with black stamped letters on mother of pearl coated paper. The format is A5. The book weighs 1 kg. Aside from cleaning up the scans, it was also absolutely exciting to see the progress in such detail. Even is a friend but I am also just a fan and I remember seeing some of these back in the day, but just like it usually is, the memory isn’t that vivid. I urge anyone who likes to see sketches to take a look at this book and just see how dedication and discipline can pay out.
